Scleral Lenses

Advanced Eye Care is pleased to now offer Scleral Lenses. If you’ve been told contacts are not an option for you because of keratoconus or other corneal irregularities or still have poor vision with glasses and traditional soft contact lenses, then Sclera Lenses may be right for you.  

Scleral Contacts are large-diameter gas permeable contact lenses specifically designed to go over the entire corneal surface and sit on the “white” of the eye – the Scleral.  Scleral lenses functionally replace the irregular cornea with a smooth optical surface to correct vision problems caused by keratoconus. 

Scleral lenses can be used for the following conditions:

•    Keratoconus
•    Pellucid marginal degeneration
•    Post-surgical corneas (INTACS, corneal transplants or LASIK)
•    Corneal scaring
•    Corneal dystrophies
•    Extreme dry eye syndrome
•    Chronic inflammatory conditions
